  • Serbian fintech startup Veli has successfully secured pre-seed funding from Omorika Ventures.
  • Veli is the company behind a digital platform of the same name, designed for private bankers, wealth managers, and financial advisors.
  • Available on the European market since last year, the platform aims to bridge the gap between traditional finance and the emerging crypto sector, according to its founders and investors.

With this investment, Veli has successfully closed its pre-seed funding round. The startup plans to accelerate the development of key technological solutions for crypto brokerage platforms and private banks looking to enter the crypto space. While the majority of Veli’s team is based in Serbia, the startup now aims to expand its development and sales teams while venturing into the European and Middle Eastern markets.

We launched Veli with the idea of helping investors who are new to the crypto and tokenized economy invest like experienced professionals. What we recognized is that most people still prefer interaction with a real person, so we created a platform that allows professionals to manage their clients’ portfolios,” Stevan Radonjanin, co-founder and CEO of Veli, told Forbes Serbia.

He further adds that their digital platform enables financial advisors to set investment parameters and create strategies with just a few clicks. AI will also assist in making better investment decisions by providing extensive market insights, including instant news analysis, various technical indicators, and the ability to compare market conditions across previous cycles.

“We have ideas for an AI solution that can assist with investing and direct indexing, allowing individuals to create their own investment methodologies and strategies. Currently, we are developing an API that enables brokerage firms to offer these services to their clients. Over the past month or two, we’ve seen a surge in demand from banks looking to integrate with us,” Radonjanin tells IT Logs.

“The fact is that most crypto applications are complicated to use. That’s why we placed a strong emphasis on user experience, creating a platform that is intuitive for both financial advisors and their clients. Additionally, we leveraged cutting-edge technologies and built a scalable architecture from the start. This allows us to easily integrate new services and adapt the platform to the requirements of banks and financial institutions, which are increasingly interested in entering the crypto industry,” explains Veli’s co-founder and CTO Marko Selaković.

On the investment side, Serbia-based Omorika Ventures expressed strong confidence in Veli’s potential, believing that the startup is filling a critical gap in the financial industry.

“A platform that enables financial advisors to seamlessly access the crypto market, manage clients and their portfolios, and leverage mathematically driven investment strategies is something the industry needs. Our goal is to support founders who are redefining industry standards,” said Miloš Matić, Managing Director and General Partner at Omorika Ventures. The venture capital fund was established last year by Serbian investors with a mission to invest in technology startups.
