Zscaler acquires Croatian startup SplxAI to strengthen AI security capabilities

Cloud security leader Zscaler has acquired SplxAI, a specialized provider of automated security testing and continuous protection for enterprise AI systems. The transaction delivers a successful exit for LAUNCHub Ventures, which led the $7 million investment round earlier this year alongside Inovo Venture Partners, SCV, DNV, Runtime Ventures, and Rain Capital.

Founded by Kristian Kamber and Ante Gojsalic, SplxAI emerged from Split with a clear mission – to help enterprises deploy AI securely and responsibly from the first line of code to real-world production. The company quickly attracted investor attention for its early commercial traction and technical depth.

LAUNCHub backed the founders shortly after launch, helping them scale from early adopters to a strong enterprise client base. Since then, SplxAI has expanded its presence globally, establishing itself as a leading platform for AI security and automated red teaming.

Stanislav Sirakov, Partner at LAUNCHub Ventures and a member of SplxAI’s Board of Directors, called the company’s progress exceptional. “It’s one of the rare cases where we’ve seen a great blend of product and commercial progress as in SplxAI. I’ve rarely witnessed such momentum in my 15 years of experience, and I’m genuinely excited about the next chapter of the company and its team.”

SplxAI developed one of the market’s most sophisticated AI security platforms, integrating automated red teaming, asset management, real-time threat detection, and governance compliance. The platform allows enterprises to discover AI assets across their operations, continuously test for vulnerabilities, and monitor live systems for misuse or exposure.

Headquartered in the US with an engineering team based in Croatia, SplxAI positioned itself at the intersection of enterprise security and applied AI. The company’s open-source tool, Agentic Radar, launched earlier this year, helps organizations map dependencies in AI workflows and detect risks through static code analysis.

“When we founded SPLX, our mission was clear – to help enterprises deploy AI securely and responsibly, from the first line of code to real-world production. We saw a fast-approaching future where AI would power every workflow, every product, and every interaction – and we knew that security had to evolve alongside it,” explains Kristian Kamber, founder and CEO.

For Zscaler, the acquisition marks a significant expansion of its AI security portfolio. Known for its “zero trust” architecture and annual revenues exceeding $2 billion, Zscaler now adds deeper visibility into AI assets and workflows along with advanced continuous red-teaming capabilities.

The integration of SplxAI’s platform will enable Zscaler to address the rapidly growing demand for AI-specific protection – covering everything from large language models and agentic systems to data pipelines and multi-component processing servers.

Ante Gojsalic, founder and CTO of SplxAI, highlighted the strategic alignment between the two companies. “The world is entering a new era of AI-driven transformation. Enterprises are investing billions into AI infrastructure – from LLMs and agentic systems to data pipelines and MCP servers. But this innovation comes with a massive expansion of the attack surface and an urgent need for continuous protection. From our very first conversation, it was clear: Zscaler recognizes the importance of full-lifecycle AI protection.” he concludes.
